Timo Glock looks set to sit out this weekend's European Grand Prix after continuing to be plagued by a stomach illness.

Marussia's third driver is Maria de Villota. The thing is however that I guess Timo thought he would be fit enough to race so Maria did not have the opportunity to drive in anger and prove she could make the 107% cut. Missed opportunity for sure and missed exposure: spanish female racedriver in Valencia. Even football extremists would have noticed

Makes sense. If they did decide to put the 3rd driver in, the FIA probably wouldn't let them race. Sure, Timo would have got within the 107% time, but a 3rd driver who has barely driven an F1 car at all? There's no point.

@107SS2009 thanks for this clarification. I didn't know that. I assumed that third drivers had to have a super-licence to qualify for the job.
