This is really horrible and let's not make any sexist remarks.

You are being too polite, comments about her eligibility to drive and gender are totally idiotic.

The front of the car was said to have been destroyed....De Villota's helmet took the bulk of the impact......She was reportedly motionless for around 15 minutes begore being transported to hospital.

No driver deserves this. Like you I hope she comes through somehow.

@Gorbachov my point is now is not the time nor the place to question Maria Villota's qualifications. The important thing is to hear news good or bad. Is that so hard to understand?

Maria has plenty of experience. She drove a superleague car for nearly 2 seasons. Those cars have 850 horsepower with push to pass, can top 200mph and no trick electronics. I worked with her and know she is a very competent driver.

I hope she is ok

elijah, If I drop any expletives I may get edited. As an F1 fan and a female at that this is horrible news and not something we all want to hear since this series hasn't had a fatality since Ayrton Senna. Thanks for understanding where I am coming from.

Gorbachov Its not her first time in an F1 car. She tested a Renault R29 at Paul Ricard in August of last year.

Some people are hopeless, of course she's not the best F1 driver out there but she's been driving single seaters long enough not to be a complete noob...

Really cross my fingers, that's shocking news !
