Willing to bet mechanical failure is the cause..
I was looking forward and hoping for the day she would
join the F1 Circus.
I really hope this will still happen, "fingers crossed".

Lets all hope the dear lady makes a full recovery . I am incliuned to agree with the gent who suspected a mechanical fault . this is shocking news at any time . made worse when it happens to a member of the gentler sex. If any of us are religious a prayer would not go amiss

Come on here after hearing about the accident earlier today and I am disgusted that some people that are probably older that I am act so immature and bring gender into the thread, it could have happened to anyone, I alos find it ridiculous that Crash has had to edit some posts because they have been inappropriate.

Get well soon Maria, I hope it's not as bad as it first looked!

There are rumours that the sudden acceleration may have been caused by the anti-stall system. I dunno but some kind of malfunction would seem to be very likely for an accident like this to occur.
