Lewis Hamilton is no closer to sitting down and discussing a new deal with McLaren, but admits that leaving a top team would be hard to do.

The sad fact I am trying to understand is what's going on in his head employing Simon Fuller who knows nothing about motorsport or it's demands.
My concern for him (Hamy)is he must see himself as more than a racing driver, which he doesn't appear to be!
It has all the hallmarks of someone who is not focused?

@Call Me Mr Cynical Simon Fuller has asked Mika Hakkinen's former manager Didier Coton to manage Lewis on all matters in regards to racing and being there on the circuit while Fuller's company deals with the branding.

@Call Mr Cynical, more of the merchandising side like clothing line etc, etc. Didier Coton manages Lewis on racing issues like contract negotiations etc. I think Lewis is more focused now than last year.

@arcuid It seems rather stupid of me to criticize Hamy on what seems to be a "I love Hamy" fraternity.

Your analysis is incorrect, the merchandise is under McLarens ownership. He would only be allowed to be sponsored by something like Gillet etc

If you are correct and that Coton deals with all racing matters that doesn't leave Fuller much to do?

No Hamy sees himself long term as a celebrity, the fact is that looking at him outside motorsport I can't see a living for him (other than investing the money he has earnt).

arcuid time will tell on whether he has a life after motorsport in the meantime let's be positive we haven't seen so many rappers in the pits for a long time!
