You only have to look to where Ferrari is on the constructor's championship to see how important a strong pair of drivers are for a team, and Red Bull are looking good at the moment for their 3rd straight constructor's championship. It would be in Red Bull's interest to sign up Webber for another year.

I think the fact that Webber casts some doubt on "who it will be with" definitely sounds like he's entertaining offers other than Red Bull, so that lends the Ferrari rumors some credence. I still don't know why he'd go to Ferrari, unless he's getting ready to retire or they've promised him absolute parity and equality with Alonso, and that he will not be treated like a number two driver and need to play a support role to Alonso. Somehow, I don't see Ferrari showing him that kind of equal treatment, so it'd be a surprise to see him not re-sign with Red Bull.

Could also just be a negotiation tactic, to plant the seed in Red Bull's head that he has options and that they might want to consider what they'd be losing, in a consistent points scorer who is reliable and experienced.

It'll be a real bummer for Formula 1 when Webber does retire!

People like Raikkonen, Hamilton, Grosjean were perhaps even more readly obtainable last year, when Webber was having a much worse season. RBR chose Webber. What's changed?

Go to Ferrari, Mark. You will never win a WC in RBR. You probably will win a race or two for Prancing Horse. Those trophies are all you need to finish your career in a positive note. Winning a GP driving for Ferrari. How many drivers out there would say no? Noone. If you think differently then you are plain wrong.

Mice Nuts, I tend to agree, however 2 things go in Red Bulls favour.
1, Mark is an extremely loyal person, particularly to Horner, and would feel some satisfaction finishing his career with RBR.
2, it's probably a case of better the devil you know.

Personally, would love to see him in a Ferrari for a couple of seasons.
