Giving a minted racing driver a 25,000 Euros is not going to be effective.

If a driver has a load of money behind him fines are just "a nuisance".

It would be much more effective to actually exlude a driver from a race for repative unacceptable driving.

He had race bans in F3000 for dangerous driving. He ran over a marshal at Monaco after completely ignoring yellow flags.

When the guy looses out he can't take it. Unfortunately the win in Spain makes him think he is the best.

Formula 1's driver penalty system is set for an overhaul, after it emerged the FIA is discussing changes to the way punishments are handed out.

It has been arbitrarily unfit for purpose for some time.
