Good for you Singapore in trying to nail Bernie down on a better deal for yourselves. After all, Singapore has done much for F1 and Bernie just takes the money. Singapore was a great city before and is now so it doesnt need F1 to make itself appear to be more than it is by inviting F1 to grace it with its presence like many 2nd rate cities do.You are paying Bernie to run his cars in your own back yard so he can clean up on its TV money. Maybe he should be paying all of you.....

Personally, I don't care about Singapore. Good for them to negotiate a better deal if Bernie's taking advantage, but as far as the race goes I just don't care - the track isn't fantastic and the "night race" concept is a major letdown as everything's floodlit so might as well be done in the daytime.

First off, I'm in North America, so no stake in the following.
I don't get why that track gets slammed so much. I actually really enjoy it. It looks great on the tube and the drivers generally seem to enjoy it (apart from the heat). And what's wrong with a night race anyway. I've "driven" the track a lot in a sim and it's a blast to drive. The chicane section feeding to the bridge is wild at speed. At least it's not a boring Tilke-drome like most of the new tracks. And passing is definitely possible. It reminds me of a Need for Speed Underground track, hope they work it out.

@ Droog

Completely agree...its a great track to drive on a Sim and most of the drivers seem to like it.

@ Ross...its run at night, not just as a gimmick but to make it more reasonable for those watching in Europe and even North America, which of course also = greater tv ratings.

Interesting what droog says about it on the Sim and I hope that maybe with DRS it comes aliive more like Valencia has. The problem now is F1 has too many races on the calender so each race has lost some impact compared to fewer races and greater anticipation we had in the good ol days !!
