I have said it on several other threads, mainly before Schumi's 'second coming'. He is not the 'special' driver he thinks he is. Eddie Irvine was his team mate On the odd occasion Eddie made it to the podium, hey no spray waste, he drank ALL the champagne. Then Rubens came along.... he has made the new Oxford English as the new clearer definition of AVERAGE!

No folks, Shumi is proving to us he is not dominant when he does not have the number one car. There are drivers on the grid that are flattering their machinery. Schumi is not one of them. He is with a team that should to be on podium, and regularly. The Merc is a competitive car. Sadly he is in denial, like most of his followers, so don't be surprised to see him messing around mid pack next year. Norburt, do the right thing he needs a gentle tap on the shoulder....

MS got pole at Monaco with a car that is not the fastest. He beat drivers almost half his age and some even with better cars, i.e Vettel and Hamilton. It shows he has not lost an ounce of his driving skills on a track that does not tolerate driving errors. On speed, he seems pretty on par with Nico, according to Brawn. So, I think MS is still one of fastest and experienced drivers. He is certainly the top 6 fastest drivers on the track and I dont see why he should not be driving. He just did not have the luck and the Merc team has let him down a couple of times with their mistakes.

@Jules

Just one pole at Monaco? And that proves what? I rest my case.

In the other car Nico has proved the Merc is as quick as the Redbull on several occasions, with some strong race results. As I stated earlier Schumi is not a bad driver, he is, at best, above average which would explain why he can occasionally appear at the front in a car that should regularly be at the front. He is not flattering his machinery and seldom does. Discuss.

Schumachers an amazing driver although he does have his faults, so did Senna but we never hear about his 'dirty' driving. Schumachers won 91 gp and is still competitive at 43. All this talk of 'he was never that good' is complete rubbish.

I would love to see Michael finish his amazing F1 career at Ferrari next year being as though he loves them so much but if he finishes it with Mercedes then so be it but either way i hope he has 1 more season.

mike ... i think you mix the cars ... the merc is the silver one, the quick car that should be on the podium regulary and should have won at least twice this season is the black/golden one.

the merc is NOT the quick car you think (only with drs and ddrs its quick)

thats my opinion...

@PTS

Fact: Schumi won in the best car.
Fact: Schumi does not win if not in the best car.

This is not my opinion, this is evidence.

Go clean your nostalgia clouded goggles.

Piercarlogassolini, what's your point? I'm a MS fan and I think he should still be racing because he is just as good as most of the top drivers out there now...even at 43! He still has the speed and is the most experienced driver on the track who has won many WDC.
