Pastor Maldonado has proven to have the ability to divide opinion over his talent and place in F1. Which camp do you inhabit?

Pastor is a bit of both, in the last two races in particular, just as he has been on for a good haul of points that would in all honesty leave Force India and Sauber trailing, he has found himself at the centre of incidents.

Nothing like it. Simoncelli was a character and personality who enjoyed 'the battle' much like his compatriot Rossi. Maldonado on the other hand doesn't seem to care at all about other drivers. The only incident Simoncelli would be accused of being too aggressive was the pass on Pedorsa at Le Mans 2011 but even then it wasn't as clear as Maldonado torpedoing Hamilton or running Perez off track.

Furthermore Simoncelli had respect for the other riders, unlike Maldonado (see Monaco).

Simo had no more respect for the other riders than Maldo has. Yes he has passed on but lets not distort the facts to honor his memory. He was a hard racer refusing to give space just like Maldo. Maldo needs to temper his talent with calculated agression ala Hamilton in order to stay in the field. But it must be argued that he is having to overdrive the car. That car was nowhere on the grid until Maldo pushed it there.

He's a menace, and that story will not end well.
A minimum 1 race suspension should in the card for the next (inevitable) incident. Someone needs to get his attention.

ptolomy. agreed. the last incident was just a racing incident. but whereas other incidents were due to forceful driving, he has been no worse that another driver who got away with warnings, and no penalties. therefore to penalise maldonado would be inconsistent.
