Richard, you weren't at all concerned about the brutal crackdowns or oppression in Bahrain, but you're speaking out against a Grand Prix in Sochi. Why is that?

Look I have nothing against the guy or his firm, but everyone knows that architecture is a very personal industry. It is natural that repetition will follow when the same person or firm is producing a design to overcome the same problem.

Tilke's circuits naturally therefore follow a similar design theme and I think it's better for F1 to have more than one architect to turn to.

Long straights and slow corners. I know Tilke can only build on what he's given but it begs the question why doesn't someone make the decision to, you know, build tracks on interesting land?

Straights the length of the ones at India, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi, korea simply aren't interesting. Why is that so hard to understand. The maximum length for a flat out mostly straight section should be the length of Bahrain's or Monza's.

No offence, but it's the worst circuit in the history of motorsport in term of design. The middle sector is just unbelievably ridiculous.
