His team should have tell him to give back the position, he would have got one more try to overtake.

It must be frustrating, Vettel move was similar to Hamilton on Rosberg on a previous race. I like clear rules that apply from the start of the season to the end,and sanction given by cool stewards.Stewards should be like terminator, they should be programmed.

richard : no, he deserved the penalty. I dont know 20s means so harsh but surely it was avoidable.. He could let button go instead passed him , but he didn't. He chose to overtake so if that case then you're right, he had no where togo but off track AND slowing down.

Waiting patiently to see the news of a 10-place grid penalty for Hamilton when he was battling Vettel which allowed Button to gain the time he needed to pass Vettel on pit stops. Because that was a major factor in why Button was ahead in the first place. Piss poor sportsmanship from Hamilton.

@ Russell I don't understand your logic. Alarm bells? It's only one race. Hamilton's race was over when he got that flat. In my opinion Mclaren is out of this years championships anyway. They haven't been able to keep up with RBR and Ferrari. This championship will be contested by RBR and Ferrari.

Glad to see parity entering the sport. No doubt if this was Hamilton that penalty would have been applied. I'm glad to see it applied to Vettel as he is the current darling of the sport and a good guy overall but even he makes errors in judgement. It was likely a calculated risk hoping it would pass mustard. It didn't so now they know the limits and will be more careful in the future. I think the penalty was justified if it aligns with penalties given earlier this season for similar infractions.

@Steve Hamilton is not going to get a penalty for unlapping himself. He had the faster car with fresh tires and Vettel was slow. Kubica pulled the same stunt on Lewis in the Title Fight in 08 the Pole driving a faster car and unlapped himself. No penalty was given. Faster cars can unlap themselves.

I used to really like Seb but he has really begun to annoy me recently especially his total lack of respect for his team mate. I wonder how well he would do in a team that is not so good. Could he do what Schumacher and Alonso have done which is go to a team that is not very quick and help build that team. I doubt it very much.
