Ron Dennis: There's no reason Lewis won't be driving our cars in the future

Dennis knows Hamilton does not have any real options so he will be trying to get a better deal, paying what he wants to and not want Hamilton thinks he's worth. Ultimately he will get a deal similar to Button's whether he likes it or not. One option not discussed is a sabbatical year, things might just have changed by then
giving him other options.

It would be a huge shock if Lewis chose to take a sabbatical. Is he negotiating some kind of performance-related get-out clause in the contact for next year in case the McLaren under-performs? But with major new regulations in 2014, who knows what the new pecking order will be anyway?

Maybe a 2-year deal with an option for 3rd. That way, if the 2014 car is not up-to-scratch, Lewis has the option to leave.

There are lots of potential drivers these days. McLaren will always have some option...certainly not the other way around for Hamilton atleast for 2013 season.
