A stat that seems to have been missed (so far) is that IF Alonso scores a point at Spa he will equal Schumacher's 2001-2003 all time record of 24 points scoring races in a row, a fantastic achievement when you think that F1 is far more compeditive now than it was then, although you could argue that it is now more reliable.

very interesting stat tipan. reliablty certainly important. australia 02 only 8 cars finish out of 22. also remember in 01 + 02 only top 6 drivers score points then top 8 in 03, so harder to get in points when shumacher sets record. so maybe harder for shumacher but still very impressive for alonso and show great strenth of caracter at both drivers.

Sam, the other thing that should be considered is that during Schumacher's record only the top 6 places scored points (or top 8 in 2003) although Alonso has only been outside the top 6 twice in the last 23 races and he's scored 14 podiums, amazing given that it's far from the best car.
