I really think he's overrated having seen him race in F3. There are other drivers out there who deserve the chance more. Also the fact that he's trying to bypass GP2 is not the best decision IMO. Of course it means he's at no risk of finishing something like 10th or so in the championship which would considerably hurt his chances but at the same time if the Williams ride isn't happening next year he'll essentially be an unproven driver and will still have to go to GP2.

Basically, if you want an F1 drive just try and go prove yourself against the other best young drivers in GP2 (and this year the WSBR field also seems quite good).

What a joke! The y wants to guleapfrog because he paid to run FP1. You know what Bottas go to GP2 and prove you can beat other drivers but I guess that would be a career disaster right because Razia and Valsichi would make you look bad right or should I say they would make you look average! Until this guy doesn't prove he deserves to be in F1 by winning GP2 or coming close to that he should be kept away from F1 and btw Williams do yourself a favor and let Bruno run FP1 he would score points worth much more money than what this guys who has proven nothing payed for FP1.

Bruno's doing a great job recently, far more impressive than Maldonado, and deserves to keep his seat I think. Very consistent point scoring.

If PDVSA are willing to keep paying for Maldonado's crash record then I don't see a seat here for Bottas!

To win GP3 is one thing, but not sure if he's the next big thing..

Even if Maldonado or Bruno (which should stay) are to leave the team it would be idiotic from Williams to waste 2013 with this guy. Better give Luis Razia or Heikki a chance with the team when I start to think there at least ten names that come to my mind who would do a much better job than this unproven guy with Williams.

Senna's been great recently, very consistent driver, and always seems to gain position during a race. Leading 6-2 in terms of point scoring and not causing any incidents on track, and if he was given FP1 to set his car up he would be performing even better.

Maldonado is very quick over one lap, and has a race win under his belt this year. Consistency is an issue as well as on track incidents, but as I said, has a race win :/

Chances look slim for Bottas.

So Bottas would do badly in GP2? Even when he beat Calado to the GP2 title and Calado is 4th in the GP2 championship. Alright then.

Luiz Razia and Davide Valsecchi look like losers who have taken years to master even GP2. If you don't impress enough in your first/second GP2 year, you aren't good enough. Top drivers impress F1 team enough in their first year. Thats why Hamilton, Rosberg and Kovalainen only stayed in GP2 for a year. These guys who grind away for years at GP2 level waiting for a year with no new talented drivers to get their chance at the title are pretty much "talentless".

If Pastor the psycho keeps ramming into people every race and Senna continues to be more and more consistent, it will be a tough decision for the Williams team to make on who to retain for next year.

@blah so be it! if he is a good driver send him to GP2 he will win the title and show everything he got in the first year impress Williams and then get you F1 seat! Simple isn't it but for some reason he's afraid of doing just that.
