The only way this joker could win the title is if Williams produce a much faster car than the rest and he is able to get pole position and a clean getaway at every race. Becuase he can't come through the pack safely, he has really poor judgement. I'll admit he's fast, but whats the point of being fast if you have no race craft.

It's amazing what one race victory does for someone's confidence. This reminds me of Heikki Kovaleinan's win in 2008. The only difference is that Heikki didn't start crashing into other cars and say he was going to win a title for Mclaren..

On another site there was more detail of the demo stunt.

"Maldonado, visiting his home country for the first time since becoming Venezuela's first grand prix winner, was due to complete a 12-lap run on the Fuerte Tiunas military parade ground in front of 20,000 fans and numerous political and military VIPs, with team owner Sir Frank Williams and shareholder Toto Wolff also present."

Stacked it second lap.................. Har Har

Got to stop now, my ribs wont take anymore!

Without wishing to join in any form of Maldonado-bashing for the sake of it, I honestly don't think he realises what he's just said. How very difficult it is to actually WIN the title! Never mind that he is not consistent enough from race to race, but there is also the phenomenal pressure that comes with the run-in to the title. Every single mistake made has serious repercussions.

Alonso, with his immense talent, has only managed it twice in his otherwise illustruous career. Maldonado would need to make spectacular improvements in so many different aspects of his career to win even 1 title. And that is the simple truth.

Not that I'm actually saying that people are bashing him for the sake of it lol. The current bashing is probably justified (unless he improves dramatically in the second half of the season).

I was just trying to be as fair to him as I possibly could lol

Maldobozo's best chance of taking Williams back to F1 title glory is if he steps aside and donates his $40 million to the team. Then they can hire a topnotch driver, a championship contender, like Kimi Raikonnen.

Has anyone seen the video on youtube of DC driving the Red Bull on the New Jersey street track? He drives pretty quick past lots of parked cars, just imagine the carnage if that had been Maldonado instead!
