F1 » Volkswagen insists F1 'not a priority'

Volkswagen has played down rumours that it is planning on entering F1 in some capacity in 2015.

Volkswagen and Sauber seem like they could be a good fit. But I wonder if Honda would be interested in coming back as an engine manufacturer, certainly they would benefit from partnering with Sauber while Kamui is part of the team.

Although I'm not sure Honda made the most reliable F1 engines, it would be nice to see them back in the sport.

Why does this pointless rumour/story keep surfacing?

They are too stingy/sensible to come into F1, can spend a fraction in WRC and sell lots of Polo WRC GTI rallye specials and get brand exposure.

They've got sports cars for the R8 & R10 market and DTM for the overpriced RS model Audi's.

What benefit is there is F1 for VW?

Of course not.
rumors of VW entering F1 have been going for almost 20 years, Yet nothing has happened.

Nothing has happened to suggest anything different is going to happen this time round.
