I am very glad the race has been arranged for another three years. It regularly produces classic races, and it's also one of the great tracks to go to. I really missed it in the years it was left out.

That said, it is a shame the deal is so short-term, so its future will remain subject to speculation. If they ever need to invest in facilities, seek government funding, make sponsorship deals, and so on, this kind of doubt must be unhelpful. So too for local businesses like hotels, which must get a big spike in sales.

Good news for the fans as Spa is one of the greatest circuits...a million miles away from one of the hundreds of new Tilke designed heaps.

Bet this deal broke Bernie's heart

imagine the fury from all of us if it wasnt?
oh but wait, abu dhabi, bahrain and valencia could fill the gap!!
F1 is testing my patience as it is, this shouldnt be even an issue, SPA is THE track.

@Pottor - you're right that a lot of us would be angry if it was cancelled, but I don't think Bernie Ecclestone would care too much.

Look at the BBC licence payers' reaction to the Sky deal - and he couldn't care less.
