F1 » Petrov to quit Caterham, F1?

A lack of support from his native Russia could spell the end of Vitaly Petrov's F1 adventure, according to his manager.

we all know Petrov is there thanks to Bernie and money from Russia titans but Petrov is right what's the point in been in F1 just to make numbers. He should go to Indycar as that's the place if you want to have fun and making new friends! F1 is just boring from the inside!

He is no longer a rookie. Petrov know his way around F1 now,
He knows how the game is played..Because of money (megabucks)
and some ability, a seat will always be available if he decides to stay
in the F1 game.
Dylan,
Agree he would find the welcome mat here.
Just image for a second, Petrov driving a 'Lada' around NASCAR.
Many F1 drivers have found out that F1 is not the 'one and only' in the racing in the world..

Funny how the whole article is discussing Petrov's relative lack of financial support which may lead to a premature end of his F1 career, yet some people want to say he's only there because of 'megabucks' from 'titans' and Bernie.

Few crumbs short of a biscuit....

It would be sad to see Petrov go as I think he has talent. He has been equal to Kovi on races but not so much in qualifying. He just needs to put his head down and not get distracted. I'm sure his popularity will rise.

josh. the money he brings from the oliogarths, does not go into his pocket. that is what his manager sees as the problem. petrov gets little or nothing. she feels that he should /could be making more in another series.
so either he wants to be in f1, or he wants to be making money. unless he finds some speed, he wont have both.

Actually I think that Dylan (above) had it right.
I don't mind Petrov, seems the decent type and a relatively competent driver. And I will always appreciate his blocking of Alonso.
But Indycar may just suit him 100%. It's still (sorta) open wheel single seater racing, and it would be a lot less stressful.
And there's one or two other current F1 Drivers that I would like to see join him, free up a few seats for up and comers.

I hope that this tw*t gets out of F1, the sooner the better for the sport.
He doesn't deserve to have a good car, because he will just misuse it and use it for ****ty purposes like his blocking of Alonso which cost the latter the title.
He should have been thrown out of F1 that day, anyway he has no talent to succeed. Atleast he is in a Caterham in which he is being thrashed by Hekki and not doing anything which messes up the championship battle.
Get out of F1 and get lost Vitaly.

As much as I like Alonso and was hoping to see him take the title in that dramatic race, Petrov did nothing wrong and Fernando should have taken more risks IMO even if it's always easy to type that as I've never battled for an F1 world title...

And it was unfortunate for him that the Renault car was "unovertakable" on the Yas Marina track due to good traction out of the slow corners and superior top speed at the time.
