I personally love the return of turbo's.
I bet they let the HP out more over the following years and whether you like them or not, turbo motors are the ultimate racing engines.
Even V12's were beaten by the turbo's that era.

Personnally I think its not going to be at a good time. Credit where its due to Ferrari for making progress.

With changes in driver development its going to make things difficult from an adative point of view no doubt but at the same time its going to cost a lot more money for the teams and development. Turbo engines and the regulations will mean lots more critical engineering which =expense. So Ferrari will also probably release a few 'blown' road cars. Yep, sounds interesting.

turbo motors also suffer from - lag, major heat, hot intake air, more expensive, and it doesnt matter how much O2 you shove in to a combustion chamber the stoichiometric properties of combustion do not change. Cooler motors last longer, hotter motors require more investment and maintenance.

The only benefit I can see is the lack of reciprocating mass (loss of a couple pistons.) & that will have a marginal effect on the racing. KERS is another primitive technology that could be replaced by racing fuel and end up decreasing lap times.

Bring back refueling, get rid of KERS unless the racing outfits want them. In the world where 1/10s of a second equal big big money F1 is asphyxiating.

FIA destroyed my sport! V6s do not belong in F1. Nothing compares to the sound of a high revving V8 or V12! Goodbye F1! Jean Todt and his pseudo environmentalist ideas, converted what was the most competitive motorsport category of the planet into a harmless, boring and repetitive parade of very expensive and predictable and programmable robots, sometimes driven by interference of drivers! RIP F1 anyone who says they like the sound of a v6 in F1 don't know what they are talking!

For good or bad, this is quite a different world. Not long ago, same coments were issued about some "fool" who placed wings on F1 cars. This is called "evolution".
With regulations and banns, lap times keep on falling every year.
It will always be Formula One.
