Its up to Mercedes to make that decision. They should tell him 'Its over Michael'. 'You were a great driver but you're now too old and its clearly apparent you're driving for pleasure and money and you don't have the motivation or will to win any more'

'We NEED a younger driver who can deliver the goods at probably a fraction of what you're costing us'

JOHN i believe the decision is all on MS as he has a clause to go on or not his choice and to all who say get youger driver he set the quickest time around monaco over everyone so i think he still has it to run at front just needs the car to do it .

If you list all the drivers in order of preference to drive your car in 2013, no matter your opinion of the guy and whether you're a fan of his, you'd be a fool to put him below half way down the list. I'd be happy to see him in F1 for as long as his name isn't the very last.

The dismal effort that Mercedes have put into the return to F1 is the sole reason for Michael's relative failure. It has nothing to do with age or reaction time or will to win. Purely a sh1t car. Give him a decent car and he will win. That is why he is hanging on before making a decision ... he wants to see what next years Merc will look like ... I can tell him already, it will be crap.
