I'm really starting to get sick of these pay drivers. From this story, all I got from the manager's thoughts was "Hmmm... which driver that got into F1 by skill alone should we kick out to make way for our driver, and how much will we pay."

In my opinion this guy has barely made an impression at all. And they're thinking he could drive for Sauber or Force India??? The drivers in these 2 teams deserve to be in F1. They've proved it.

@Wade - How exactly is he supposed to make an impression when he's sat in a Marussia? We barely ever see them on TV so how do you know whether he's been driving well or not? Give the kid a break.

@Wade - He's proven his ability by consistently matching the pace, and outpacing on occasion, his significantly more experienced and previous podium finisher team mate. For a guy in his 1st racing season in F1, matching Timo for pace is no mean feat.

You think so? Both di Grassi and d'Ambrosio beat Glock in the WDC when they drove.

He's been excellent this year. Anyone who hasn't noticed hasn't been paying attention.

Also, no-one gets anywhere in motorsport by skill alone and the current Sauber and Force India drivers are where they are because they've had huge backing along the way. For what it's worth, Pic's GP2 record is only a little weaker than Perez's and (in the main series) quite a bit better than Kobayashi's.

Not that I think he'll be taking a seat from any of the four. More likely replacing someone who's moving up the grid.
