Jose, If it matters little if Lulu has a good or bad car, how come he and his fanboys are always whinging that his car isn't good enough?

I'll remind you of 2009 "can I park this thing?"

The good or bad car seems to matter quite a lot really.

sunny. sorry, a little bit of over emphasis for robs benefit. i suppose that the caterhams are not going fast enough, and the williams are not consistent enough. but the main thing is that renault/lotus renault/lotus all have had problems. it is a pity, as it is spoiling a good season.

droog. the rules state that the kers batteries cannot be used for any other purpose.

but i wonder if this will change in 2014. the cars then will be required to be self starting, so they will in fact require battery capacity

ty. onboard starting would have been a better description, but it is he same. i think, though may be wrong, that 60 and 70 cars also had nboard starting. to me, this external starting is a modern thing. sunny may be able to clarify the matter? over to you sunny!

ty. curiosity got the better of me so i googled it. it doesnt give a date for the change over, but it is a recent innovation, external starting.
of interest is the fact that in the 2014 rules, the cars will be required to run purely on electric power whilst in the pit lane!and kers battery capacity is to be doubled so as to permit that!

So will they be able to have the engines turning over while in the pit lane? Or will they have to stop the engine on pit entry and restart before re-joining the track?
That would imply that the car's electrics would have to have a battery source to run on in the pits..
