seriously though, he says he has a BDA in his corgi. and it has a scale top speed of 162mph. nearly as fast as my amg 63.

FERRARI and Mercedes use engine water cooling to cool their alternators while Renault makes use of air cooling.
The formula one alternator can sustain a running temperature of 200-degrees C for the windings and 150-degrees C for the bearings, it is shaft driven normally at engine speed, the amperage output is 35A/H.
Richard is correct, F1 rules says the KERS and the alternator systems must be separate, he was also correct in saying that in 2014 (v6 engine) the engine is to be started by the driver.
The Renault alternator is a Renault build part with internals supplied by various suppliers, the Renault alternator problems is still believed to be overheating by Renault themselves.

sunny. thanks for clarifying. now, if the kers power is needed for the pit lane use, does that mean that a car will not be able to use kers dring the pitting lap? and if they do, depleting the kers, how will they be able to trundle down the pit lane?

No doubt you read pages of F1 data, and sometimes I find it so very interesting, because my position in life doesn't allow me such pleasure, so you do it for me. Now here's the but! Your copy is difficult to read becasue more often than not there are spelling errors in nearly every sentence. And for some unknown reason you don't realise that a capital letter follows a full stop. When you are not putting someone down you can be a good read, regards Graeme.

wanadoit. thanks for trying to correct me, but i use accepted computer script. but occasionally i might touch an adjoining key, which then appears to be a spelling mistake, but is just due to my own clumsiness but i would like to point out that you should look at your own post before criticising others.

by the way, i normally post on f1 matters, rather than find fault with others. it makes a forum far more interesting. try it!

marco is always talking about "new" charge of alternators and "old" charge ... the old one was ok, the new one just lets off ...

maybe chaterham and williams still have old ones in stock ..

but that sounds like it is really a renault matter ...
