F1 » Button happy to be back on the podium

Jenson Button had a quiet afternoon of it, tucking in behind Sebastian Vettel through the first corner of the Singapore Grand Prix and following the Red Bull to a second place finish at the chequered flag.

Hasnt really finished in front of Hamilton enough times this year, although with six races to go Alonso would be quite happy to see JB taking points away from Hamilton, he would probably be happy to see Hamilton return and take points off Vettel in Japan.

Jenson said that he seeks to win the constructors championship for McLaren. And podiums are always good for that. He too helped his team-mate in the drivers championship, having finished ahead of Alonso in Singapore. And the constructors are more interesting for people like Martin Whitmarsh and other team principals than the drivers title. And Lewis retirement was a double blow for him. He lost the opportunity to take big points from all their rivals. The same happened at Monza. If I remember well, the last time the McLaren took a double podium was at the chinese grand prix, round 3.

Whitmarsh and most of the crew were looking calm and unmoved when Lewis's car failed, even though it handed the lead to Red Bull. When Jenson's car failed from 2nd in Monza, Whitmarsh and others had their head in hands, and the disappointment on their faces were obvious.

Very clear that they don't want Lewis driving for them next year.

@ Bfdskdfs,
They may not want him driving for them next year, but surely they would like to get a big pay check by winning the constructors championship, delaying him in the pits is less costly than retiring his car.

@ blublz,
are you really think, that Lewis can win the title? LOL
He has nothing with which to oppose Vettel or Alonso. Only Button can challenge these guys!
