F1 » Progress for Marussia and Glock after long wait

Timo Glock: An incredible race for us. Over the last four months we have really closed that gap to Caterham and this is a very nice reward to everyone in the team because it has not been easy. We'll enjoy the moment but keep pushing now for the next race and beyond.

Not a bad effort considering they don't have Kers and the Cosworth engine.

Show's how bad the chassis/aero of the Caterham must be as they have a race winning engine, Kers and some quick drivers.

Caterham have a bigger budget too.

taz. i think that caterham had a number of extra pit stops to contend with. further, tim had been lapped at the time of the first sc, and was allowed to unlap himself and latch on the leaders again.
but that is just the way the current rules are written, but it does not allow the real situation to be seen.
still, whats the old saying? never look a gift horse in the mouth.......

I'm so pleased for Marussia and Timo especially. He deserves a good result. I hope they can get 10th in the constructors' this time. They deserve it after losing out twice to HRT despite being quicker.

This is great progress considering they were not even able to test properly before the season.

You make a fair point but their pace has improved noticeably, perhaps Pat Symonds is starting to have an effect on the team.

I don't get this team (why do they bother) but credit when credits due.

With this 12 place finish, it puts them 10th in the constructors. How much $ is this worth for the team? I know several million but just how much? I think it would mean a lot for this team.

That's a good effort, justifies getting out of the Nick Wirth CFD closet. I've never been convinced by Glock but credit to him for slugging away at it. John Booth and Pat Symonds seriously know their onions so clearly a good dynamic.
