Go to Mercedes, I believe the challenge and responsibility of 'leading' a team will be the making of a new Lewis Hamilton, and the responsibility will produce a mature and consistancy he has been lacking in the past year or too. It has been very obvious that the relationship between Mclaren and Hamilton has been strained for some time, and Whittaker's obvious allegiance to Button has helped him make this decision, he will go to a Manufacturer supported team where he can be valued and supported!

I think the post is OK, at least I know to keep checking back in today. He will sign and stay where he is but if I had the choice because of his overall general attitude over the past few years I wouldn't offer the deal.

The BBC and most of today's papers say he has decided to join Mercedes. A risky move but with the new regs for 2014, one well worth taking. I think McLaren have made a mistake with their initial offer only to increase it over the last couple of weeks. If they were prepared to pay it, they should have offered it in the first place. After all, JB actually got a pay increase when he signed an extension last year.

Good. I'm not the biggest Lewis fan at all, so it'll be interesting to see what he's like when he's with a different team, in a different car, with a different crew.

Now let's see someone interesting come in to replace him!

Jenson Button came to Lewis Hamiltons house, and moved him out. Ross Brawn knows a thing or two about racing though. What price Hamilton and Button for next years WDC.

Maybe now that he is out of a British team the local medea in England will go off his case, .. and i hope a truer treatment will be given to him on this site as well.

That's a strange one, especially consideribg Mercedes' current (lack of) form. It will be very interesting to see how he fits in to a new team. I'm a Hamilton fan, but I will be very eager to see how he adapts. Perez to McLaren would certainly be another interesting swap, too.
