@ Mikc

Exactly. This is good for all parties involved, but as usual some people are all about the glass being half empty.

Button and Hamilton were not working as a pairing, something has caused them to fall out, it's clear as day. Just look at all the little undermining comments that have been flying around lately (Button's "it's a 2 way fight" regarding the title being the latest)

Hamilton goes to a factory team (McLaren effectively become a customer soon) and gets his no.1 status there.

Jenson will get his no.1 status at McLaren (no matter how much they claim to run the team equally it just won't happen next year with Perez).

McLaren no longer need to juggle 2 drivers who hope/expect to win every weekend (maybe those forced photo shoots will be les cringeworthy next year)

Mercedes get a top driver in his prime to develop a car around.

I feel sorry for Rosberg though, he must have been expecting to pick up the full no.1 status for the team when Michael retires.

This is relevant, but the Wikipedia F1 2013 page says Alguersuari is replacing Perez at Sauber, so unless Ferrari want him back, its goodbye Mr. Schumacher, and 21 years of memories...

This is great for Hamilton's management. The money is in, job done, let's celebrate. And tons of new merchandise to sell. Who cares if Mercedes will be succesful. Money money money.
