Such a shame that an occasional brilliant racer has succumbed to the fame and money lifestyle.

I gather once the Mercedes honeymoon is over he'll be distracted again hanging with his hiphop homies?

Interesting how some people claim MSC and Brawn transformed Ferrari.
Yet in 3 years, Mercedes have won a race early on this season, when the tyres were totally misunderstood, and now they are back fighting in fifth place. It's not the turn around expected from these two great names together.

What everyone forgets about is that Ferrari, Brawn and Scumacher dominated in cars designed by Rory Byrne. In fact all of Schumacher's championships were won in Byrne designed cars.

I hope Lewis gets the car he deserves, I can't stand mclaren so it was always galling watching him there, but one thing seriously worries me.
Mercedes have signed Lauda to the team. Last time he ran teams, was Ferrari in 199/92 and Jaguar in 2000? Both hopeless. Even Prost with his own team went from winning races as Ligier to bankruptcy.

We'll see, but I guess a 3 year contract will line up Lewis to replace Alonso if he quits in 2016.

So finally Ron Dennis has managed to alienate yet another driver....only this time its his "experiment" that hes lost!! The driver Martin Whipped4r5e revealed as their "McLaren experiment" has now lost his love and loyalty to the team that nurtured him all through his "career" ! Always gave him the best equipment in the junior ranks, and as near as dammit the best equipment in F1. Ron Dennis will go down as the worst driver manager in F1 bar nobody!!

A lot of remarks on here from the same old crowd who never have a good thing to say about Lewis but do you think he is going to be concerned about your agendas and at the very least uninformed remarks . Move on Lewis Mercedes really do want you there and really will give you a car that is the same as your team mate . He might of been under McLaren's wing from the age of ten but it's time he showed he is his own man and stopped allowing them to manipulate him. They don't own him body and mind as some people seem to think should be the case . I said a while ago that i had no doubt he would sign for Mercedes and if i was wrong i wouldn't post on crash again . Well guess what i will be here for a while . Just like Lewis . Good luck to Perez he really deserves a potential race winning place in F1 and after Lewis he is my favourite driver in F1. And if he beats Lewis then good for him but a great move for both drivers . F1 just got interesting . See what Button and Whitmarsh makes of that .

damn shame.. a lot of cracks were showing last year.. Hamilton is very talented, but Mercedes need time to be consistant winners. He will have to accept the fact that they might not be competitive next year..

I think Lewis is aware that he may not have competitive car next season , it seems to be all about 2014 and the new 1.6 turbo engines which Mercedes are developing at this moment in time so Lewis could find himself in a good place in 2014 but it is still a gamble.

so funny. the sort of people who hate lewis most likely love shumi cos they are resistant to any sort of change to their comfort zone. Then lewis replaces shumi so these bozos will continue to hate him for this outrage. lol

Too many muppets on here thinking Hamiltoon is the best thing since sliced bread!! 1 drivers title in 6 years.....won in the last corner of the season by 1 point!! Massa was robbed in Brazil, the Senna family distanced themselves after the initial Hamiltoon worship as he started to drive more erratically and became involved in numerous stewarding controversies, and the Brazilian racing fans have never and will never forgive him for "stealing" Massas 1 chance of becoming champion for Brazil!

what a bad bad choice of timing!!! whitmarsch hates him so much that he is not going to let it happen that hamilton takes a "1" on his car to the next team on top of that, the team that gave them their engines until now...
