I think Mercedes has an inferior car compared to Mclaren, and they will have that next year too. But, if any driver can make up for that its Lewis Hamilton.
He is the fastest driver currently in F1, and has been since he got there. I think he might be a bit stuck up and full of himself at times, but over the years he has matured and with all the personal issues he has grown IMO.
All in all, I think the switch is good for Mercedes, its good for F1 and its good for Hamiltons bank account. But its not good for Hamiltons aspiration to become world champion once again.

I am going to put another spanner in the works here: I think Mercedes will go all out to recruit Adrian Newey for the middle of next year, to develop a car for the regulations coming in 2014. Then between him, Ross Brawns' technical knowledge and maybe even help from Rory Bryne, as a consultant, they will be unbeatable with the budget of Mercedes.

Transition year 2013 and bring on 2014, NEW regs & NEW man and WDC.

aldo. according to latest reports, merc were the second highest spending team in f1. only ferrari spent more! this means that with the signing of lulu instead of schumi, their spend will be even higher.
and a bit like toyota, merc has had no success with the amount of money that they are throwing at f1. macca and rbr are lower down the list, and have had more success.
daimler ag should know that you cannot BUY success.

Nope, bad move on Lewis' part if getting another world championship crown is his goal otherwise the money is good. If Schumacher cannot get Merc to improve their engine Lewis isn't going to do any better. Lastly poor Nico, bigger salary says you are number 2 buddy.

lau. what percentage are you in? lulu will make a lot more from the merc deal, due to sponsorship endorsements, which are not allowed by macca, and also due to bonuses, IF he wins!

Wrong!
When he was in GP2 I admired what he did especially at the British GP.
What I hate is all the "smoozing" he does. Its like...what celeb can I be photographed with this GP...yawn.
