deon. road cars are SILENCED for the road. however the dino v6 without turbo, had a glorious sound even in road form. an unsilenced v6 which revs to 15000rpm, will still blow your eardrums. dont dismiss it until you actually hear it in race form.

Can't say the V8's sound that great compared to the V10's.

How much have the engine manufacturers spent on R&D? You can't just expect them to write that off. Bernie might not like it but it's loo late. That kind of money wastage is more usually associated with government IT projects...I should know.

If you truely want to improve engine efficiency set a maximum fuel limit per race.

Making the teams use an explicit engine layout to reduce fuel usage just sounds like the wrong way of doing it.

That said, I have nothing against the idea of the V6 per say I just don't see it having the desired effect!

I hope so... I mean I wish they would just keep them the way they are. It was a shame seeing them come from V10's to V8's which sounded EPIC! The V8's sound good but I'm not so sure that V6 turbo hybrids would. I'm the sort of guy.. .the bigger the engine, the better.

Let's just see how this pans out.

Agree with Stace. However, engine development is expensive and will lead to many failures once again. Say what you like about recent regs, but DNF's used to be way more common due to engine failures.

bernie has influence but doesn't make the rules and too much money has been spent already by the manufacturers and the agreements have been signed so V6T's are coming like it or not.
i know the same old posters are salivating praying they get cancelled and merc will pull the plug on their f1 effort but it aint gonna happen folks!!!
