If I may be permitted to hijack this empty thread, I've just been reading the Thursday interviews from Suzuka and was very interested to see that Sergio Perez said that he never had an offer from Ferrari, despite his contacts with them, and that he believes that this is because they don't want to replace Massa at all.

Massa must be working for free, I cant see why he wouldnt be replaced, and I dont know why Massa would want to suffer leftovers until hes chewed up and spit out of f1.

Yes, Alonso pleased because he will have one competitor less. But I'm sure he knows that now Button is taken N1 on Mclaren, will be lot stronger and favorite for the 2013 title.

"For Lewis, it is good to move on. From McLaren, Prost was going out, Senna, me, normally for a better life, a good change.
"McLaren is 14 years without winning a constructors' championship, most of these sometimes with the best car."

OUCH

Of course he backs Hamilton going to Merc - cause he knows that'll be one less person to battle for race wins.

Look, Merc may come good, and if they do Hamilton will surely be a contender, but it hasn't looked good for the last 3 years.

Let's hope they pull their finger out!

Alonso must be smiling a lot these days, and Jenson too.
They know that Mercedes are very unlikely to produce a car that can win races on a regular basis, (although you can never say never with Mr Brawn running the show). It seems that Alonso still really hates McLaren and RD, so he will have also been happy that Ron has lost his Golden Boy (or should that be Bronze boy?). The last three years have not really been Golden for Lewis, have they! I saw that Ron has NOT spoken to Lewis since the announcement was made last week, so it looks like there is a fair degree of ill will. Guess Ron feels he's been kicked in the ghoulies. Hope Jens beats Ham in the points again this year, and I just can't wait for the new season to begin. It's going to be a long long winter.
