Mclaren have only won a single constructor's title in 20 yrs.. and that was last century.
Really, its plain to see that they have money, good drivers, a good car, good personnel, spotless garages.. so what is stopping them?
Cd it be the PC policies and driver management which grab defeat from the jaws of victory so many times?

Geno, Even Ham says it was not the financial offer, it was the fresh challenge which drove him to accept the Merc deal. Button is on 12m per year for the next 5 years and Ham was finally offered a deal which matched the Merc offer, which is more than Button is getting.
Ron may justifiably feel aggrieved because he has looked after Ham for many years and spent untold millions doing so. In Ron's place I would have at least expected honesty and integrity from Ham instead of the BS, "I don't know what is going on" etc etc
Man up and just say "I have a great offer on the table from Merc and I am thinking about it". That would be the decent thing to do, after all these years.
A hair cut, as you put it, is what he deserved anyway because the Super star results have not been there, have they.
Button beat him last year, and according to some here, Button is crap.
A bit of common decency would have been nice.

@107SS2009 - Nobody relevant ever said Perez had been offered the Ferrari seat. It was all speculation.

I agree that Alonso seems very down on McLaren. And perfectly pleasant about Hamilton.

I hadn't thought about Jens' chances next year. Good point, he will probably have one less driver in front of him won't he :-)

Ron D didn't spend all of his own cash on lewis, its been widely reported that merc have been paying 50% of hammys wages for years, so the investment in Lewis is just as much merc's as it was McLaren's. Remember Macca were really a Mercedes works team up until recently
