If you win the race or get a pole or win a championship (as in case of Schumu in 1994), FIA don't penalize. If you r 2nd or on podium, sometimes, FIA strip off the position.

I like Alonso, but come on, the guy is going to take whatever they can get right now. Vettel slowed for a local yellow that was retracted prior to Alonso's arrival and he wants Vettel to get the shaft for it. If you can't outperform them on the track, you rely on the court of public opinion. Last year at Monza he ran Vettel off track and got nothing for it. This year Vettel does the exact same thing and gets a drive through? The difference is that Ferrari instantly Cry's foul ,even more so than Mclaren if they believe an advantage can be had. Can't really blame them, it is just the culture that F1 has cultivated. They are just playing the game.

@Angelina
Have you ever heard or seen a driver complained about his car after winning a race.?
I also do not think ferdi would have made any deference even if he wasnt impeded n that is whether he 'WAS'. He had said it would be a miracle if he wins the championship WHY? : bcuz the bull is faster than the 'pony' oops! I mean the pranking horse. ( it was a slip of fingers) lo!!

@xlong - yes - there was one driver who did so continually - Mansell. Even in '92, when the Williams was about 1.5 seconds faster than the field, whenever he won, "there were problems with car - and it was a huge problem, but I was just about able to win" - this after he put nearly a lap on the rest of the field other than his teammate........yawn - really hacked the team off.

But in this instance, getting back on topic, nothing like consistency from the stewards - and this was NOTHING like consistency. No doubt Vettel's number one fanboy richard will leap to his defence...... maybe time to give the Redbull cars a careful check for "creative" interpretations of the rulebook
