Both Button and Hamilton currently count on more than a million Twitter followers, although the latter posts less frequently - and with decidedly more care....

Haven't they got that the wrong way around?

@richard haha I follow all the F1 drivers & media as you get quick, snappy information. Maybe it was a good idea following Hamilton... for the comedy value.

@arcuid I agree, you could feel tension was beginning to build in 2011 and I think that got to Hamilton's head and it seems to be coming to the top again now between Button & Hamilton. It probably won't affect Button as he's mentally stronger but it will affect Hamilton.

It makes no sense that the Hamilton fans think Hamilton is the biggest superstar in F1. Two drivers seem to have more Twitter followers than him.

Jenson Button 1,178,252
Fernando Alonso 1,145,142
Lewis Hamilton 1,127,578

While the top 2 have more followers they seem to keep themselves more in check & down-to-earth. Looks like JB & Fernando who stay out the public eye a lot more are a lot more popular compared to Hamilton.

Liam, lets see how this shakes out. Those two are still team mates so they both have to behave and get the job done til Brazil. You know how it is with Twitter. A spat here or a misunderstanding there. Its great for everyday people who can curse, rant and rave because they can get away with it but for celebrities and sports figures its poisonous if not handled carefully.

Laughing so much I posted on the wrong thread. Whoops!
I couldn't post anything before because I've been LMFAO.
Tears still running down my cheeks, sides aching. Thought I was having a heart attack.
Hamy is Un f in believable.
He has lost it completely.
It was bad before, but now Ross will be saying "Oh She it, what have we done?"
"Come back Schumy PLEASE!"
Which global company is going to want to advertise their products with this numpty?
Straight Jackets are US?, Jacobs Cream Crackers?
It is absolutely priceless. Even a top Hollywood comedy script writer could not come up with this stuff. Thank you thank you thank you Hamfisted.
I have not laughed like this in a very very long time.
JB "I never followed him" Why would JB follow a total pillock like you Hammy?
If Ham had a brain he'd be dangerous!

Liam48, Honestly all fans are guilty in participating in this "popularity," contest with the arguments between factions on the internet on who is the bigger star or better driver irregardless who has the most followers on Facebook or Twitter if you stop and think about it for a second. Just an observation and an honest opinion. Ok have to go. Work in a couple of hours. Good night everyone. Peace out.

I don't think I can take any more. I have read all the posts, which took me ages because I, a) could not believe it, and b) could not stop laughing and crying.
Beginning to feel sorry for the Hamfanjitas.
Their man is a basket case.
Several sandwiches short for the picnic.
Not altogether on main street.
Someone has to seriously think about looking at Ham's mental state. I think he has lost all contact with reality. There is no telling what he might do next.
His management and his family need to get together with him asap and sit him down and talk to him.
I'm not joking. I think this is potentially very serious.
He could get lost on the way to Korea and end up in the North, instead of the South.
If he starts Twittering about Kim Jong p'ill'ock, the Great Leader might cancel the fleet of presidential Mercedes he has just ordered.
Hold on a minute. Sorry. Confused.
It is Ham who is the Great Leader, who commands respect from all, and who will save Merc
