Erm because it's a public website and plenty people who don't read twitter will be going for a look because their may be more 'gems' there. If I was his management I'd be telling him to stop using twitter but they probably do the exact opposite as he's a apparently global megastar.

"After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't."

"Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!"

Read between the lines people, this is more Freudian than anything else. Hamilton wants Button to give him support to try and win the championship up to its finish in Brazil.

Hamilton's pride simply will not let him directly ask Button for that support. To win the drivers championship is the greatest achievement of any team, over and above the constructors championship.

Hamilton is saying, after three years as teammates Button should respect me enough to support my challenge for the championship, which is best for the team, and our fans.

@arcuid But I'm a fan of motorsport, & I read Lewis twitter page as a result of a topic on Crash.net

Do you understand now? I will never join twitter, or follow anyone on there.

Just cause your not a fan of something you can still acknowledge it. Stop questioning me.

Taz fair point on the "gems," as well. Great way to chill when stuck in traffic is to read Tweets especially in a city where traffic is hell. I do agree that public figures need to take care with their usage Social Media. Just the wrong word or sentence can cause a firestorm.
The public can be brutal especially in the Age of the Internet.

I do think he's mismanaged by Simon Fullers team, maybe they think this is a good strategy to keep his profile high but it's more akin to Nascar than Formula1.

Wonder who dented the yellow Daytona in the background, looks expensive.

Taz,

You really SHOULD look at twitter and facebook, if only to get a clearer understanding of the sheer madness that LH is caught up in. I have to use facebook as it drives a revenue stream in my business, but my God, what a needy, self-obsessed and bigotted comunity it is. Its even worse than Crash! Now, if that doesn't arouse your curiosity I don't know what will....
