Lewis Hamilton has been forced into another Twitter backtrack after posting comments after his team-mate's lack of respect....

Personally I think it's hilarious.
I am an Hamilton fan, will always be.
Must admit it was a bit STUPID given the current situation, but Lewis never fails to feed the media.
I hope he never changes, well at least not too much.
Suck it up people, it ain't like he said he was a bad driver or slated his girlfriend.

Any way Jenson, why weren't you following your team mate ???

i do not have access to twitter, facebook etc as they are a bit of a waste. but it seems that some people put spur of the moment comments on it. more fool them!

but maybe lulu is now realising that he made a mistake signing for merc, and it is affecting what he says. he is probably regretting his decision, especially when he saw perez passing him on the track. and merc continuing to struggle.

he played a game of dare with macca, and lost. he just has to get over it! he can hardly expect teammate and team to be supportive of him now, can he?

What amazes me is that (as Taz pointed out) his management team is nowhere to be found. How can LH pay them millions, one assumes this to be the case, to manage his public image, to manage his contracts and other relevant engagements only for LH to go out and share rather damaging personal info in public.
This latest incident shows, to my mind, that LH is such a sensitive creature, that he reacts to the smallest sign of dislike. In this case unjustly so. I would also be pee-ed off if one of my buddies did this to me but COLLEAGUES, never as i separate these.
He is no longer loved, he is no longer #1, he is no longer in control and he is clearly affected.
My simple advice to LH would be, knuckle down, keep quiet, work hard and honest and start afresh next year. Stay well clear of all this shallow sh...t.

I wonder if Senna, who Hamilton always compares himself to, ever gave a $h!t what Prost thought of him. This is all you need to know about Hamilton and his level professionalism and maturity.

@LewisHamilton. Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn't.

@LewisHamilton. Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!

@LewisHamilton. My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don't blame him! Need to be on Twitter more!

Maybe classic sarcasm from someone who thought Jenson Button was his team mate .

The use of irony to mock or convey contempt.

Andrew Benson's take on it:

This issue finally explodes the myth propagated since 2010 that Button and Hamilton are close friends, but it also refocuses an unfortunate truth. If there seemed to be an undertone throughout the saga over Hamilton's future that high up at McLaren they wouldn't be that bothered if he left, that's because there was. They will miss his inspirational driving but not this.
