F1 » F1 2012 POLL: What should they do about Grosjean?

Another first lap incident has led to a hail of criticism from all sides for Lotus driver Romain Grosjean. So what should they do about 2012's latest "crash kid" to knock him into shape?

Firstly, i like Romain, i feel sorry for the guy - the constantly smiling happy fellow from the start of the season is looking more and more crestfallen, its not nice to see a fellow human being going though the mill like he is, regardless of how well he's being paid etc.
Secondly, this talk of Webber being slow in turn 2.. what does that matter? if he is slow its up to those behind to react to it, and Romain was very slow to react - he admitted as much saying he was concentrating on perez outside of him. Finally, the boy has served his penalty so for the time being thats the end of it. there's always one or two drivers who are crash magnets.. last season it was Felipe and Lewis.. I hope he has a good clean run for the remainder of the season and gets his chin up again.

It shouldn't matter if Webber was slowl through turn two, it is still on the trailing car to make a clean pass. A driver should have complete control over their car and not clip the car in front, regardless of how slow they may be.

From what I remember, Webber did have a car on his left when he started his turn in to turn two, possibly causing his slower speed (though it still could have been Webber being Webber with his slow starts). After he started the turn in, Grosjean appeared to accelerate to the inside of Webber, trying to take a line that was already closed off. In my opinion, it was an over-aggressive move that ruined Webber's race, and he was penalized for it. I do like the idea of having him start from the pit, but if he's that aggressive and desperate right off the start, causing multiple incidences on the first lap, will he really be much better starting from pit lane?

I honestly feel if he causes another incident, he should be taken out for the remainder of the seas

2ND Race back after ban for same thing hello he said he has thought about it and will be more careful so my answer would be black flag if still mobile and then 2 race ban on him and the car so lotus start to notice as well . This has nothing to do with what webber was doing at all end of . Then guy is good in race but needs to take a lot more care on starts as the old saying goes a race is never won on the first lap

I remember reading an interview with Patric Head where said of Damon and JV that the more they practiced their starts the worst they got because they were trying too hard and closing off their natural reactions . Might be like that for Romain for a while.

This man clearly is a dangerous racing driver who needs to be dealt with before he causes someone to be killed through his driving misbehaviour. He is one of the worst drivers I have ever seen in the F1 circuit regarding safety and consideration towards other competitors. The F1 governing body ought to consider this a major issue with this debacle of ongoing crashes caused by this particular driver. F1 need to address this driver accordingly and should consider banning him from F1 altogether if he refuses to amend his suicidal driving style. F1 should intervene before it's too late. They should call a meeting with him and give him a good dressing down along with an ultimatum:"Either you change your driving behaviour or face being banned from F1 for good". This clearly is not acceptable and I think that all the power that the F1 governing bodies have, they surely can look into this issue and get to the bottom of this ongoing concern over this dangerous man.

I like Romain, he is an exciting driver with clear talent for racing. But, he has a problem with somehow thinking he is going to be left behind at the starts if he doesn't get up to the front by the first turn.

The stewards can only do so much to try and change him with fine's etc. The only real way he will change is if the drivers have a "drivers only" meeting with him. Lay it out on the table for Romain. Also, what is said in the meeting stays in the meeting and goes no further. The people he respects will have the greatest influence on him and for his sake I hope he takes to heart what is said.
