After Vettel, Alonso fears Lewis, but Mclaren are still happy to see a world championship fade away by not instructing Jenson. I do not like team orders, but Mclaren need to go this way now.

Alonso has known since he joined Ferrari, that McLaren make fast cars, he has told everyone repeatedly that Hamilton is the only one who can win in a car that is less than the best, Alonso's challenge for the titles since 2010 have been built on a foundation of beating Hamilton and McLaren when they slip up, Alonso now knows he is in a position where McLaren and Lewis cant help him, either Mac could win this weekend and Vettel 'could' go away leading the championship, unless Alonso beats him.

@blublz
I agree with what you're saying. Alonso has to fight hard for his position, but as Vettel is Alonso's greatest rival at this stage in terms of points, he would still see McLaren helping him especially if Button takes points from Vettel, Hamilton, and Raikkonen.

I think you guy are speaking as if Alonso is 20+ point ahead of Vettel , its only 4 points and vettel just need to stay ahead of Alonso to overtake him and yes Alonso might want a favour from the McLaren but RBR would be looking at Lotus actually its all about whose side are you on

@jasper
I don't think I'm speaking out of turn. The way this championship is going, it could easily come down to winning by a single point as in 2007. I could be wrong of course if Red Bull's jump in performance is maintained.

After Vettel, Alonso fears Lewis?

Really? I'm sure Kovalainen won't be afaid of Vettel. Lewis over rated by media. No doubt BOTH are damn GOOD drivers. That doesn't mean Alonso fear them! He wasn't afraid of Schumi so who are these guys lol

he has told everyone repeatedly that Hamilton is the only one who can win in a car that is less than the best...

Alonso said that out of respect. That doesn't mean it's absolute truth. actually alonso 2012 performance is FAR better than Lewis when we compare the results achieved in under-performing cars. Isn't it?

I'm sure Alonso is feeling a little apprehensive at being caught in a matter of two races by Vettel. So naturally the pressure is that much more intense for him in the current status quo. Nevertheless he knows he has to stay ahead of his main rival first and foremost as well as keeping the others at bay, so I expect he too will be going all out for a win.

From Jasper Quote "I think you guy are speaking as if Alonso is 20+ point ahead of Vettel , its only 4 points and vettel just need to stay ahead of Alonso to overtake him and yes Alonso might want a favour from the McLaren but RBR would be looking at Lotus actually its all about whose side are you on" end
Jasper, If Vettel stays ahead of Alonso, he won't need to overtake him because he will already be ahead. If Alonso is ahead of Vettel, he won't need to overtake him either because he will already be ahead. I hope that is all very clear now.
