Felipe narrowly missed out on the World Championship and then got almost killed. That's not easy to come back from. But he has shown that he can come back and improve and I can not think of anyone in F1 who can give Ferrari and Alonso the support for 2013.

What is now needed, for both drivers, is for Ferrari to provide them with a competitive car next year. I am a Massa fan, a Ferrari fan but not so much an Alonso fan. Having said that, What Fernando Alonso has sucked out of that Ferrari car this season he deserves the championship. Good luck Fernando for the next few races. And good look Felipe, and Fernando, for 2013.

Congrats Felipe, well done and I hope for you to get better and better race after race for the rest of your career.
Alonso for WDC 2012, come on Ferrari get with it.

This last couple of races he has looked very much like the pre-accident Massa, its good to see him back!

He was easily fast enough for third place and a well deserved place on the podium, but its fair enough given the points situation to have Alonso place as high as possible.

If he keeps up his recent form into next year he should (I hope) still get the offer of a "decent" drive for 2014.

Does anyone else interpret 'repay' as 'keep the seat warm for (insert big name driver here) and move asside without fuss in 2014'? I can't remember the last time Ferrari signed a race driver on a one year deal.

I wont speculate as to his replacement, but I do believe Ferrari have plans to bring in a big name next to Alonso in 2014. Massa is very lucky to get a 2013 drive with Ferrari.

@Porsche DownForce

Cool video but not Flip. One comment saying it's Flip, probably you...

If it would be Flip his manager's father Jean would retroactively have his superlicense revoked. Although that would cost his son a hefty sum...Hmm...
