F1 » JYS: Vettel no F1 great

Sir Jackie Stewart believes that Sebastian Vettel needs to prove himself away from Adrian Newey-designed cars before he can be called an F1 'great', but suggests the German would be mad to go to Ferrari just now....

Bull**** JYS. He is maximizing what is at his disposal. He is on his way to become youngest ever triple champ and maybe on his way to break Micheal's record too. Even Webber is at the wheel of Adrian's machine but he never maximized.

It wasn't Vettel's inexperience that cost him the title, it was the car blowing engines. Je,was set to overtake Button, but his car kept taking a crap. Kind of like this yea. I just hope it doesn't shut off while he is in the lead for the rest of the season.

Vettel won his first title at the very last race, it wasn't domination, it was his determination. He never gives up,

Jackie Stewart is totally right. I honestly don't have any intention of taking away anything from Vettel, but he is not a great driver. Vettel is not as great as Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. Alonso and Hamilton are the only drivers who were fast with any design, both in the past and present. I can still remember where Vettel was before 2010. He certainly is not great and does not deserve the titles he won, Today we see great drivers like Alonso and Hamilton win races with inferior cars. He certainly does not deserve 2012 title.

its jys opinion. let him have it. he drove a formula 1 car. and all of us here drives the family car.
F1 drivers aim to sit on the best car on the grid and if vettel is sitting on one of the best this season and maybe the next, why would he look for another car. Look at Senna, when mclaren went south he switched for the best their is and that was williams. alonso in a renault switch to a mclaren after the 06 season. raikkonen from mclaren to ferrari. the only exception was schumacher & lulu.

@Bugoy - the formula one car that JYS drove is much closer performance wise to our "family cars" than it is to a current F1 car. Given that we are not paid to spout our opinion's on here our comments may hold more weight than the biased tartan wearing one.
