@Taz, I think the present way websites make the most money is knowing who you are and tracking you with personalized ads. Of course if you run off the extra traffic, I don't know the math there.

taz. you work with computers so maybe know. how do the clicks work? if you just open a site, is it recorded, or do you have to open an ad? i have never opened an ad, but i have noticed that if i have been on another commercial site earlier, i often get a side bar from that company. does that make sense?

Thats tracking cookies doing their evil, they track your search habits and pass that data to the ad site which fires back the content they think you'll be interested in. It's quite an eye opener what your browser is doing in the background.

Can't comment on how they calculate the revenue, it's sometimes one unique hit per day per IP address, I don't think they get revenue everytime you visit the same site repeatedly but I might be wrong.

Wish it was registered users only as the trolling can get a bit much, also they'd spend less time moderating posts.

Payback is a b****!!!

I put the **** there, because I know that Crash would not publish it anyway and that's cool. There's a reason I wrote that sentence. I clearly remember Fuji 2007, when Vettel crashed into Webber from 3rd place, because Hamilton was fooling around behind the safety car in heavy rain. I remember it clear as day. On this very forum, some Hamilton fans ripped into Vettel about it, saying that he was rubbish and EVEN THEY could have stopped their road cars in the rain....that Vettel was a joke, etc. I remember it well.

But guess who's laughing now? And probably on the way to his 3rd straight WDC......
