Take any of the top 10 or so drivers and plonk them in a fast McLaren and they will be capable of winning a race. The real question is will Perez be able to qualify better at Mclaren?

Typical McClaren they have started winding Button up before the season has started. He says in Autosport that the team is his but McClaren obviously have other ideas and feel that he needs to be helped along by suggesting that Perez will beat him, he might win a race next season but if Button is at his best and the car is the best (not likely given McClarens recent record) then Button has the ability to win. Whether he will depends on him nailing qualifying regularly and he has not done that so far so we will have to wait and see.

The advantage that McLaren will carry into next season is that they will have two drivers with similar driving styles so that they should be able to push much more in one direction rather than having to compromise due to different driver styles.

Yeah, I'll be interested to see the "similar" driving styles of Perez and Button, because I think it's a complete fallacy. Button *is* smooth, he makes long sweeping actions on the steering wheel. Perez is constantly making small corrections. At least this is what I see from onboard footage. I recommend people look for themselves during the last few races if you're interested in that kind of thing.

McLaren has a huge problem for next year they were counting too much on Hamilton accepting reality and signing whatever McLaren gave him. We all know out of all the races this year only one or twice Hamilton didn't go the right direction with his setup so basically Button as he used to do in the Barrichello's days copy the setup and hopes for the best and ones or twice win races for McLaren. Next year he won't have Barrichello or Hamilton and I don't see Perez taking upon his shoulders the responsibility to push McLaren forward.

@LJ, it's a good analysis. However Perez making small corrections at the wheel may be more indicative of a less competitive car which generally the Sauber is against the McLaren (although this season has been a mixed bag to be fair)

NOW PAY ATTENTION, you read it here first, cancel the 2013 season, give VETTEL the trophy now, although not a fan, there will be no-one to challenge him next year. Mclaren will do jack **** with those two drivers, Mercedes will not be on it, and Alonso will be an also ran lol !!
