Whoever (driver) joins Mercedes will not make any difference unless Mercedes gives him the car for him to make a difference.
As for Lulu being pivotal we will have to wait and see if he will produce anymore of his classic brain farts.

Agree with SS. Lewis isn't known for his development or team building, so there'll be little immediate effect due to his signing. He'll make the difference on-track but if Merc really want to win races then they need a technical department shakeup.

i should have added that ross, in his interview, made a comment that was quite anti schumi, saying that now, merc had two good drivers. so if good pals ross and schumi were not seeing eye to eye, imagine what it could be like next year!

I can see this thread taking over the airwaves for those who both like and dislike Hamilton. It's a marketing ploy for Bernie and of course both parties concerned benefit from such marketing. It would be deemed to inject new impetuous for Lewis as a change in his circumstance as well as injecting a new approach for the Mercedes team. Perhaps a win win for both parties, time will tell. Mind you I can only see things getting better for Mercedes who are after all a world class manufacturer of the automobile industry. Richard I suspect you're right with your analysis.

Lewis is just a fast driver who has always had one of the better cars wherever he has raced.

He has limited technical knowledge and behaves like a child to the media.

I think this is bad move for Mercedes.

Well the spotlight is clearly focus on Mercedes. They have solved part of the WDC puzzle. The other part is the challenge.
A competitive car equals a winning season, WDC is in the
cards. Willing to bet Mercedes will come out on top.
