F1 » Ricciardo 'hoped to be closer to Q3'

Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo was happy with his qualifying effort in India, but said that he had hoped to be closer to making it into Q3 until a scrappy last flying lap effort.

Vergne complains a little to much and may see
him ousted from Toro Rosso for this expicit reason.

He needs to accept where he is/what he has got as does
Ricciardo and he may have a future in F1.

The team principles have admitted the car does not meet expectations so be patient and low key and see what 2013 holds.

Dan's always been good on the Saturday but lately it looks like he's getting his race performances up to the same standard. He's really come into his own in the second half of the season. Optimistic and always ready for a good fight, I like his spirit.

Ricciardo is starting to show some real potential in the last half of the season, he has thoroughly had a Field day in Qualifying thus far and now his race craft is coming Together, if STR make a car good enough to fight with Sauber and Force india next year he will be the man to watch in 2013.

Vergne on the other hand, to me has shown no Real improvement since he had started, he was better in the Races for the first half of the season but hasn't shown any Turnaround or Clear improvement Like Ricciardo and surely doesn't have the ability to put the car in a good Grid position in Qualifying.
