F1 » Raikkonen: I thought we had a much better car...

Kimi Raikkonen: We changed the car after this morning's session and we were quite confident heading in to qualifying. Unfortunately, we didn't seem to have any grip this afternoon so it was much more difficult than we thought

Kimi, you are best of the rest. Anything can happen. I look forward to seeing you on the podium, fairly. No DNFs, no first corner canage, just your talent.

Earlier in the season, before the coanda exhaust, lotus were regularly near the top of the speedtrap figures, kimi's car was the slowest through the trap today, five kmh slower than grosjean (who wasnt fast), he was one of the slowest at the last race too. i think kimi's race this weekend is with sauber, mercedes and force india, the team seem unwilling/unable to match the development pace of the teams ahead.

Don't they have top level engineers?
Set up is a precise science as well as an art. Driver has ideas, sure, but a skilled engineer is needed here at any price. I know mark slade is very good, but .........

Would be great to see how Kimi did in a Red Bull - he would show Vettel up to be only just above average but benefitting from far better car

@Viac - Seriously? I'm not a Vettel fan but Kimi's car has exactly been bad this year and Grosjean who is notoriously crap has looked faster than him numerous times this season. He's had no mechanical failures either.

@anon

grosjean faster numerous time??? give me a break. If not of kimi 's mistakes on Q3, he could easily trash romain on qualifying. And on the race, today proved that even on fresher tyre and much time on free air, kimi easily trash him on lap times.

Had it not been crappy straightline speed, kimi could've challenge the front runner.
