@richard

I don't really give a hoot about the fine to be honest, but it's just stupid that everyone here is slating Whitmarsh and saying that Ron should come back.

It's quite clear that Ron Dennis has also not won a WCC in over 4 x as long as Whitmarsh has been team principal.

And on top of that, has cost McLaren FAR more than Whitmarsh has.

richard, i have to disagree. Mclaren was rubbish on the softer compound tire which never performed and started to blister which may have cost them a chance to challenge the Red Bulls soon as the harder tires went on Mclaren was a different car. Why is it Ferrari and Red Bull were able to run away from Mclaren on the softs? I believe the RB and the Ferrari cars are able to get their tires in the performance window quicker than the Mclaren car. And yes Mclaren has had more issues with tires this season than the Bulls,Ferrai and Lotus.

As for the Mcca driver they can only do what they can with the tools provided and which driver are you on about the one who consistently out qualifies his teammate or the one who breezed past his teammate with drs but the one who was passed could not do the same when in drs zone.

indy. it depends on how you USE your tyres. only lulu had a problem with soft tyres going off, button was able to run on them for far longer, sometimes longer that the bulls or ferrari! lulu is known to be hard on tyres. watch his on-boards. he is constantly sawing at the wheel, but jenson is just easy movement.

and as for which driver am i on about? you know, the won who has failed to live up to his initial promise, and who is now deserting the sinking ship!

bob. ron steered macca into a prominent position in f1, with a number of wdc and wccs. but he also began their downward spiral by taking emotional decisions which proved to be dubious.

richy, ive just realised you are trying to test me. The fact that Jenson was one of the first to stop due to tire problems and Hamilton and Vettel were out on their tires longer than anyone else on the softs means you weren't watching the race or you are in wind up mode:).

Anyway, Lewis shredding tires is a myth in 2012 remember Hungary and Lewis holding off Kimi while looking after his tires which were 5 laps older than Kimi's with the Lotus team telling Kimi that Lewis's tires will go off, as we saw it never happened.

And as for him deserting a sinking ship i dont see Mclaren as a sinking ship just because they are not as good as Red Bull, would you say Man U was a sinking ship because they weren't as good as Man city last season.

richy, your doing some serious trolling i thought that was hissing Sid's department. lol

FYI, I'm not a Hammi hater at all.

What I do hate, it his supporters who do nothing but put other people down to try and build him up i.e. Button, McLaren and Whitmarsh.

If Hammi fans were a little more diplomatic and sensible, and just realised that he is not the be all and end all, that the team is not out to get him and that Button really is a lot better than they all gave him credit for, then there would be a LOT less venom directed towards him.

As Taipan says time and time again, it's not Hamilton that's the real problem, it's his one eyed, totally unreasonable fans.

indy. i was not referring to just one particular race, but look at the pitting times throughout the season, button always goes considerably longer , whilst on the same category tyres.
basically, the tyres will last the same for all cars, other than merc, who have a problematic suspension. and that was your gripe....that macca (generally) was harder on tyres than others. i think that in that context, ferrari was in even worse situation, due to ferdi having to push very hard to try and keep up with the bulls and maccas.

bob, the fact that you are using Taipan the biggest put downer of a driver to justify disliking Hammi fans leaves me feeling i cant really take you seriously, its ok for the likes of Liam48, plotmy, richy, gordo,Taz,Mark,Ghog, blublz, i could go on but i will be here until tomorrow, to constantly criticize a driver but when that drivers fans respond it is seen as them being fanatic or one eyed. For your info myself and Taipan have been waring for over a year most of it being good banter with not much malice. While Lewis Hamilton's name is mentioned on this site there is always going to be posters with conflicting views , so instead of getting upset just get into the spirit of things or just ignore the fanboys something i know richy and Taipan wont be doing.

richy, Lotus and Sauber cars were renowned for making there tires last longer in the early part of the season, and i know not by dilberate design .

Indy,

My point is this.

When Button joined McLaren, was this forum OVERFLOWING with Button supporters declaring to the world that Hamilton was crap and the Button was going to DESTROY him?

No

Every time Hamilton wins, is this forum OVERFLOWING with Button supporters telling everyone that Hamilton was just lucky?

No

Every time Button has a bad race, is this forum OVERFLOWING with Button supporters accusing the team or his team mate of sabotage or conspiring against him?

No

I could go on, but I think I've made my point.

Hamilton fans started this war. Don't forget it.
