F1 » Vettel: We still need to go at full throttle

Sebastian Vettel: This weekend in Abu Dhabi the same level of concentration and skill is what is needed if we are to stay in front because with three races to go a comfortable lead is an elusive thing.

"Vettel proved he is crap at racing mid grid and cant win from anywhere but front of grid"

Senna could not win from anywhere but the front of the grid. Hamilton cannot win from anywhere but the front of the grid. You could look it up.

The hate for Vettel is because he stole Hamilton's thunder. Hami was supposed to be the Tiger Woods of F1, and Vettel is spoiling all that - that's why we see the absurd spectacle of people trying to rubbish one of the all time best F1 drivers.

Percentage of races started from the front row of the grid

Fangio - 92.3%
Jim Clark - 65.3%
Senna - 53.7%
Vettel - 49%
Prost - 42.6%
Hamilton - 42%
Stewart - 42%

Silly remarks by the uninformed to the contrary, Vettel has not built his success on unusually good starting position.

Vettel can never be like Senna. You people are kids who don't know about what is close battles. Say, watch the sparks between Senna vs Mansell.

He can never be like him, in fact none from the current generation. Period.

tesla. for goodness sake. have you no knowledge of f1 past or present?

seb should listen to you and not turn up at the last three races. and how the hell do you know that seb would never be like senna? oh, i suppose you mean that he can never be as nasty as senna? if that is what you mean, then you are right. i cannot see seb driving another car off the track deliberately so as to win a wdc.

so, if and when seb wins the wdc 2012, can we expect an abject apology from you

I didn't see Senna in a Championship that had 5 other WDC's either.

Technically, this is the most difficult WDC EVER based upon the amount of proven challengers, and yet Vettel is STILL winning.

Fanboi Squidgets, its an epidemic!

There's no point in arguing about it. Vettel is leading the WDC whether people like it or not, and it will stay like this until the end unless Ferrari improve the car enough to catch the Red Bulls.

Let me add my 2 cents

1- Yes, Senna didn't race in WDC with 5 WDC drivers, in 1985 he raced with 4. Piquet, Lauda, Jones, Rosberg, and if you wannaa include Prost and Mansell who would win, that makes 6.
2- Where are the statistics that show races won not from the front of the grid, or when troubles set them back at the start and still won ? That's where Seb lacks and that's what people are saying.
3- @ BK - Senna and Shumi won plenty of times not being on the front of the grid. You say there is no proof....... There is plenty. You must be young, as even Richard knows this if he cares to admit it.
Just look at Spain 1996 or Donnington 93 for 2 quick examples.
Your having a sook because Seb cant put in drives like these 2 and you know it.
4- Yes Seb will win this year
5- The whole point of what people are saying about not really rating Seb is just look at 2012 season. Seb has only won with the best car on the day and now is out of touch because of Newey. The greats didn't need the bes
