The F1 car fuel tank has one filler hole/neck two fuel lines (pressure and return) it is compartmentalized with one way valves from compartments to the main chamber, there will be more than one fuel pump inside the tank itself, plus a fuel pressure pump driven by the engine.
As I said in my post about fuel rigs fuelling the car short will in most probability be a miss calculation, when working by walking on a knife edge the tolerances gets very small indeed, whatever was the cause of the car having to be stopped there was no other way but disqualification from qualifying.
Somebody mentioned RBR using fuel inside the exhaust headers to aid diffuser (blowing), there is no such thing in F1,

For the information of those that talked about over fuelling/running rich and the resultant engine running temperature.
Fuel does its part in cooling the combustion chamber space and most importantly the top of the piston but this have nothing to do with the teams chilling the fuel.
A lean running engine runs hotter a rich running engine runs cooler.
A lean running engine under power can melt a piston.
Nobody in F1 use fuel to combust in the exhaust to help blow the diffuser.
When the rules say the car must be returned to the pits and a litre of fuel must be drawn from the fuel tank nobody is that stupid that he will try cheat because there is no way about it, provided nothing goes wrong fuel consumption wise, it can only be a miscalculation.

The FIA are very lucky that HAM already set the precedent. Imagine the conspiracy theories if this was the first time that the quali fuel penalty had been applied....

Reading some of the comments from posters on here is exactly the reason why i can't be bothed to post here anymore because if you say 1 bad thing about anyones favourite driver you get called names and even a cheat by others who adore their idol, what a joke!

Actually, this puts more pressure on Fernando, not Vettel. The demotion of Vettel to the back of the grid has thrown Alonso an unbelievable life line but he doesnt have a car to finish better than 5th or 6th today, let alone go on to win the next two races and the championship. Vettel is still going to score well today, probably right behind FA, if not ahead of him and will still be leading the championship as we head to Austin. For sure, he is going to win the overall Championship, making it even much sweeter and fuller of bragging potential. What will FA and Ferrari say now that they got the Godsend Alonso has been praying for to "level things"??!! Rhetorically, would have been best for him never to have got this "break" at all!

"If the kid wins here the championship is as good as over. Find a way to stop him. I want the championship to be decided on the last corner at Interlagos. That's what works for me, understand?"

"Yes sir, right away sir, it will be done sir. I'll call the others together and we'll figure out a suitable way to hinder his progress."
