F1 » Raikkonen: Win 'nothing to jump around about'

Kimi Raikkonen appeared decidedly underwhelmed by his first grand prix success since 2009, despite having returned the Lotus team to the top step of the podium and beaten title contenders Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel in Abu Dhabi.

The Dark,

Probably worth mentioning that the Scandinavians, despite being our close cousins, have a very different culture when it comes to talking to each other. They are far more direct, and a fellow Fin would almost certainly not be offended by Kimi's brusque manner. He was merely telling it as he saw it, rather than the Bristish approach of being jolly nice and dancing around the issue a bit! If you saw the footage of him with his team later on then you would have a very different opinion of how he interacts behind the scenes.

When Kimi won and the team radio message came on, I started to wonder how Kimi celebrated his victories. I have to say that his "muted response" was a welcome change compared to Vettels screaming. I like Vettel as a driver, but his celebrations are the worst.

The language was disgusting by the lucky winner and the the guy who came in third. I think the fastest driver in Abu Dhabi had won then i think we would have seen less uncouth behaviour

EDIT by CRASH.NET! Inappropriate comment removed.

Incidentally, the fastest driver in the race did win. It is the general idea of F1. You get to the finishing line before anyone else thus completing the course in the fastest time. Then hope you dont get any post-race penalties applied....

Indy2007,

Nothing biased about your post then!

Fastest man did win. Hamilton's fate was a bit like his career over recent years. Quick but no cigar. A reflection of both him and McLaren.

The language was inappropriate rather than disgusting.
