F1 » Raikkonen: Win 'nothing to jump around about'

Kimi Raikkonen appeared decidedly underwhelmed by his first grand prix success since 2009, despite having returned the Lotus team to the top step of the podium and beaten title contenders Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel in Abu Dhabi.

What a saddo Kimi is. He owes it to the general public to show some sign of achievement and that he's getting some enjoyment out of it. If he doesn't enjoy it then why bother. There's being cool and there's being totally rude, and I think he's very rude.

Really, this is no big deal.

Kimi is Kimi...For him, any screaming, woo-hooing, and dancing about doesn't make him any faster...so why bother? He's the most straight-forward and honest (to a fault) driver on the grid.

Vettel, trying to speak a second language that he still struggles with from time to time, didn't know that he even spoke a profanity when the words came out. Someone will have a chat with him and give him a gentle reminder, that's all.

Reminds me of an ESPN F1 article I read a while back...This is nothing like what happened back when 'the tires were skinny and the drivers were fat'...

"One of the biggest driver scandals of the 1930s saw Auto-Union driver Achille Varzi, winner of the 1933 Monaco Grand Prix, steal the heart of Ilse Pietsch, his team-mate's wife. Varzi and Ilse's affair saw the pair descend into a shared morphine addiction, Varzi's reputation in tatters."
(Search "No sex please" on ESPN F1 web site)

And we are quibbling over what the drivers said

Yes, KIMI is great and has gobs of talent. Ironic, he with few words seems to have more personality than the F1 marketing drones (drivers). Perhaps he was a bit reflective as his father passed away during the 2-years he was away from F1.

I seriously don't understand how so many people on this site don't understand the inner workings of f1. Kimi's job is to drive the car as fast as he can, and get as high up the order he can. Millions around the world are fans, and he's not going to try to please the rest of you by altering his language and attitude towards racing. If you don't like swearing, don't listen to the bloody interviews. Don't like raikkonen? fine. listen to vettel go on for fifteen minutes about why his achievement was greater than everybody elses. cool.
